Buffalo Fans Welcomed by Bills to Training Camp
An old familiar feeling welcomed the Buffalo Bills players this weekend, people cheering for them at training camp. It's been a while and according to Dante Lasting of buffalobills.com, it was a great feeling. The AFC runner-up completed their first week of camp and held their first practice inside Highmark Stadium on Saturday. It was awesome to see more than 15,000 fans show up to see their beloved Buffalo Bills. Lasting describe it, "they (The fans) brought a lot of energy. As the players were walking out of the tunnel at the start of practice, they were met by a standing ovation and screaming fans."
The buffalobills.com writer noted that "for some of these young Bills players, this is the first time they have been on the field with fans in the stands. It felt like a true game day atmosphere, and the energy from the crowd juiced up the players during the practice. Zack Moss played the majority of his rookie season without fans and even for just a practice, Moss was thrilled that Bills Mafia was back.
'It was cool," Moss stated. "It was great having all the fans definitely back in the stadium because, obviously, last year every game with no fans, up until the playoffs. And then we only had about 6,500 or something like that. So, just having all the fans back in there and just hearing the roar, everyone just being in there and seeing things getting back to normal a little bit, that helps a lot.'"
If you have never been, training camp is a blast, whether it's the Bills, Giants, Jets or Patriots. Players are more relaxed and some stay for hours signing autographs and you get to see the way professional players practice. These guys work hard and it is fun to watch. The Bills will have two more open practices at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo. Tickets are free but are limited. Go to buffalobills.com/training-camp/ to reserve tickets.
