Get Ready For Near Full House At Saratoga Race Course This Summer

NYRA announced today that Saratoga will be operating near full capacity for the 2021 meet.

As we get ready for the unofficial kick-off to summer 2021 this Memorial Day Weekend, it looks like we will be getting back to most of our favorite summer pastimes in the months ahead. Which will include mixing it up with big crowds at Saratoga Race Course.

NYRA and Governor Cuomo announced today the racecourse will be operating near "full capacity" for this summer's feet by setting aside most of the legendary track for vaccinated fans only with no social distancing measures in place. These guidelines reflect those set by the state of New York for sports venues. There will be some areas also set aside for unvaccinated fans.

It was also announced today that with proof of vaccination, fans can get free admission opening day of the 2021 meet Thursday, July 15th. Tickets for the 2021 meet will go on sale Tuesday, June 9th at 10 a.m. through the NYRA website.

It is funny the difference just a month makes. While we knew summer 2021 would be much more wide open than last summer, a month ago it still seemed like many bigger events would be limited as far as capacity limits at larger venues. And just being able to have the option to do most of the things we know love this summer has provided some great perspective on those freedoms. If the pandemic has done anything, it has helped us to form a greater appreciation for some of the smaller things we may have taken for granted in the past!
