The Buffalo Bills Sign New Wide Receiver From Kansas City
The Buffalo Bills are still adding to the weapons for Josh Allen to choose from this season with another wide receiver today.
It was easily the biggest concern heading into free agency for Bills fans. What will the wide receiver room look like in 2024? After trading Stefon Diggs to the Texans and losing Gabriel Davis to the Jaguars in free agency, the Bills are on the lookout for both a number one and a number two receiver.
Today, they're signing another option at that position.
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Buffalo Bills are signing former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
According to Schefter, the deal is worth up to $4.5 million, including a $1.125 million signing bonus.
This will be the third team for Valdes-Scantling. He started his career in Green Bay catching passes from Aaron Rogers in 2018. Then he signed a 3-year $30 million contract with the Chiefs to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes in 2022. He was cut at the end of the 2023 season and saved the Chiefs $12 million dollars after a career- low 21 passes for 315 yards and just one touchdown.
That brings the wide receiver room for the Bills to:
- Curtis Samuel
- Keon Coleman
- Khalil Shakir
- Mack Hollins
- KJ Hamler
- Andy Isabella
- Justin Shorter
- Quintez Cephus
- Chase Claypool
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling
- Tyrell Shavers
- Bryan Thompson
The Bills will get to choose the best of this group to put out on the field in the fall. Don't be surprised to hear some names that you haven't heard before become go-to targets for Allen this season.
Of course this list doesn't include tight ends and running backs who will also be options for him.
