The Buffalo Sabres' expectations this season was to make the playoffs, but unfortunately with consecutive losses, the postseason is looking less and less likely, which is super disheartening.

The Sabres last made the playoffs back in 2011, which means we would be going 13 straight years without a playoff berth. That's tied with the New York Jets for the longest playoff droughts in the four major sports.

That last playoff team included the likes of Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville, Drew Stafford, Derek Roy and Ryan Miller.

Miller had his number 30 retired by the team last season and he is no doubt a future Hall of Fame goaltender, as the winningest American-born goaltender in NHL history. Miller is beloved in Western New York and he will return to town this week.

Miller will be in attendance for tonight's game between the Sabres and the Detroit Red Wings at KeyBank Center. Not only that, but Miller said on X that he would be at Dave and Adams Card World to meet with fans on Wednesday.

Miller now works in the San Jose Sharks organization. He lives in California with his wife, but does come back to Buffalo once in a while. Many Sabres fans would love if he came back to the Sabres organization in some capacity; whether that's in the front office or coaching staff. Miller reiunited with Mike Grier (Sharks general manager) and Vanek (Sharks scout).

Make sure you try and make some time to say hi to Miller tomorrow. There will sure be a lot of fans there.
