New York State Pushing to Ban Flavored Vapes Immediately
New York State is trying to stop a ton of sales of vapes that are happening. They want it to stop immediately, too. The attorney general in New York State is actually asking credit card companies to get involved and block the sales of these vapes.
New York State is not trying to stop the sale of all vapes but there are a ton that are dubbed 'illegal' or not regulated by New York State rules and therefore they want them to stop being sold, especially to underage kids.
Did you know that almost every flavored vape is illegal? The FDA sets the regulations for what can and cannot be sold when it comes to e-cigarette products. There are in total 41 e-cig products that can be legally sold because they are approved by the FDA. There are no flavors (besides tobacco or menthol) that have been approved). Which means that if you buy a flavor vape, that is illegal.
The New York State AG has sent out a letter to TONS of credit card companies asking them for help and to be the 'blocker'. Meaning, AG James wants the credit card company to flag the purchases that are deemed illegal and stop the sale.
It is now doubt that the new generation loves to vape.
You can't go anywhere without seeing a vape store every 100 yards. There are TONS of new vape stores everywhere across New York State, but there are so many laws and rules that come down to them from New York State itself.
According to the Attorney General:
Right now, vape sellers are using mainstream payment systems to sell products that shouldn’t be on the market in the first place to kids. Our nation's children need to be protected from these addictive and dangerous products. If you are helping process the payment, then you are part of the pipeline. These companies have the power to shut this down, and they must act accordingly.
In the past almost 18 months, New York State has shut down nearly 600 illegal vaping stores in the New York City area alone.
