Jets Beat Bengals – Burress Catches TD In Return
The Jets hosted the Cincinnati Bengals in preseason action last night and are able to grab the 27-7 win. Plaxico Burress caught three passes including one for a TD.
It was a nice return to the football field for Plaxico Burress. Familiar territory for the pro bowl wide receiver, just a different uniform. The New York fans made him feel very welcome in the Jets preseason victory over the Bengals, 27-7.
This was something Burress had been looking forward too for a while now. He was signed to the team last month after serving almost 2 years in prison. He got injured during training camp but had a positive return to the NFL last night. He caught three passes. The first was met with big cheers from the home crowd. He would also catch a TD from Mark Sanchez to put the Jets up 17-7 over the Bengals. Burress proved that he will be a most welcome addition to this already explosive team.
Mark Sanchez was his usual self, 12-20 with a 173 yards. That included the 20 yard TD to Plaxico and a 16 yard TD to Santonio Holmes. Rush wise, Chris Jennings led the team with 81 yards. Next up for the Jets are the New York Giants in preseason action this Saturday.
