Joe Altieri has been managing the Albany Athletics for a long time but both the manager and his team just accomplished something that hadn't been done in 90 years. That, of course, is a perfect season in the Twilight League. The playoffs are here and as Altieri told us on Big Board Sports, this team is locked in and ready to try and win it all. Make sure to listen to that conversation above!

The Mets will start hitting, their lineup is more than capable. But, I have serious concerns about the pitching staff who won’t have Jacob deGrom until at least September. Taijuan Walker has turned in below average starts since the All Star break, and we need to see a lot more from Carlos Carrasco before we say he’s going to a big factor down the stretch. Marcos Stroman was not sharp on Sunday but you can count on him. Noah Syndergaard is not even in the conversation at the moment, and you hope Tyler Megill can continue to be a pleasant surprise. Last night was a minor setback for Megill and tonight is a big start for Walker so if they do not get it together soon, the Mets could be in serious jeopardy of losing their division lead. They have weathered the storm of injuries all year but with 2 series against both the Giants and Dodgers, oh by the way the best two teams record-wise in the National League, and no Jacob deGrom until September, this is a tall task for Luis Rojas and company.
