Saturday at Saratoga Race Course was as good as it gets, with the 40 day meet turning into the month of August. Essential Quality was challenged in the Jim Dandy, but showed close to 37,000 fans why he’s the best 3 year old in the country. Lexitonian pulled off a huge upset in the Vanderbilt and the racing fans enjoyed a phenomenal day at Saratoga. It was not surprising to see that many fans there but walking around on Saturday getting read to do a live report on the Dandy, it felt like Travers weekend, Only fitting for a race like the Jim Dandy, the Travers prep race. The betting is off the charts and attendance has been solid. I cannot wait for the next few weeks including the Whitney, Alabama and Travers and see the number of fans that show up. Saratoga Race Track has always been known as the August place to be, so the best is yet to come.
