MLB And MLBPA Agree To 7 Inning Double Headers
The latest "fly by the seat of their pants" rule change from Major League Baseball is starting on August 1st they will use 7 inning Double Headers to fit in some of these games that have been postponed and hopefully avoid canceling games.
I like this a little but. Obviously, in a world free of COVID-19 I wouldn't want anything to do with shortened games as part of a doubleheader but we don't live in that world at the moment so this plan will work. Reportedly the 30 man roster will now stay at 30 and not make the scheduled reduction. In the event of extra innings during these doubleheaders, the 8th inning would begin with a runner on second.
