New Era Starting at RPI

Dave Smith can wipe the slate clean at RPI, because there is no place to go but up. Nobody expects the Engineers to challenge for the ECAC title in his first year, but don’t be surprised if the Engineers aren’t much improved. Smith is a veteran coach and he has some talent to work with. Chase Perry is back in goal and six of its top seven point scorers return. Smith gets a total free pass this season, but he might not need one.
