New York modified and late model standout Tim McCreadie captured a heat race victory on his way to a second place finish in the "A" main last night at the 28th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals presented by General Tire in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

McCreadie's heat race featured NASCAR star Kasey Kahne driving the No. 71 Jason Leffler Tribute/Chevrolet/Beast being entered by the late Jason Leffler and and Leffler's girlfriend Julianna Patterson. Tony Stewart drove the same car in the Chili Bowl in 2012 and 2013.

Kahne finished fourth in the heat and fourth in his qualifier which put him into a "B" main where he posted a "DNF" and was credited with a 13th place finish. McCreadie meanwhile also won his qualifier in addition to his heat race win which put him into the "A" main which he led for 9 laps before giving up the lead to eventual winner Bryan Clauson.

McCreadie's second place finish behind Clauson automatically advanced him into the Lucas Oil "A" feature for today's finale. If McCreadie is able to win today, it would be his second Chili Bowl win. T-Mac scored his first Chili Bowl win in 2006.
