It was an ugly game in a driving rainstorm. It was played on a field that was torn to shreds by the end of it.

The Panthers had a lead, could have run away with the game, and then blew the lead and found themselves needing at least a field goal to just stay in overtime.

It wasn't pretty, but maybe that's what made it more impressive. The Carolina Panthers are unbeaten at 7-0 and are atop the NFC South - and the entire NFC.

The 29-26 win came after the Panthers blew a 10-0 lead and a 17-6 lead at the end of the third quarter. The Panthers watched Andrew Luck lead the Colts back in the fourth quarter and kick the game-tying field goal as regulation expired.

In overtime, Luck led the Colts down for a lead at 26-23 but Cam Newton did the same to tie the game at 26-26.

Luck was intercepted on the next drive and Newton gained a few yards to set up the game-winner from Graham Gano.

Newton was just 16-35 in the elements but did throw two touchdowns.
