After withdrawing from the Tokyo Olympics gymnastics team final, Simone Biles, the greatest gymnast of all time, will not be competing in the individual all-around gymnastics final on Thursday.

Biles pulled out of both the team final and the individual all-around final initially citing a "medical issue," which was later confirmed to be mental health related.

USA gymnastics released a statement in regards to Biles mental health, which said "After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the individual all-around competition."

Team USA said they support Biles' decision and "applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being."

"Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many."

In place of Biles, Jade Carey will be joining Suni Lee to represent Team USA in the individual all-around competition. Carey had the ninth highest score in qualifications, and she just missed qualifying for the individual all-around competition for Team USA by approximately .5 points, after scoring a critical 12.866 on the beam.

Now Lee and Carey will both go into the individual all-around final for Team USA.

It is possible that Biles could still compete in the individual event finals next week. Until then, Biles will continued to be evaluated by USA Gymnastics to determine whether or not it is in her best interest to participate in all four events that she qualified for.

This is a developing story.
