Rivers Casino to Host First Madden Tournament in Capital Region

For the first time ever, a Madden NFL eSports tournament is coming to the Capital Region. With this week's opening of the sportsbook at Rivers Casino, the first major event will be hosted this weekend as one of the most popular video games in history has grown into a cultural phenomenon.

The Electric City Classic is a single-elimination Madden NFL eSports tournament featuring players from across the country and it is bringing with it a star-studded broadcasting team. Larry Ridley, the voice of Madden, along with former Jets linebacker Bart Scott will be in Schenectady for the tournament of players who qualified in one of two brackets; an XBOX bracket and PS4 bracket.

The winner of the inaugural Electric City Classic will receive $600 as well as a TechniSport Gaming Chair and second place takes home $200.

The event is free and open to the public. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate in the competition or to enter Rivers Casino.
