Sectional Championship Preview w/Mechanicville’s Rian Richardson

With sectional championship weekend in high school basketball upon us, we caught up with Mechanicville's head coach Rian Richardson Friday morning on Big Board Sports ahead of the Class B title game in Glens Falls.

A surprising season to some, Richardson has led the Red Raiders to a 22-1 mark going into the championship against Schalmont; a team that has reluctantly waited its turn for this opportunity - to claim a sectional title without a Joseph Girard III-led Glens Falls team standing in its way.

Mechanicville tips off against the Sabres at 6:45pm on Friday night at the Cool Insuring Arena preceded by the Class C championship between 3-time defending champion Lake George and Waterford-Halfmoon.

It's the start of two-day event capping off a week-long of a games in Glens Falls. The Class D, A and AA title games will be played on Saturday.
