When the 2017 NFL season kicked off, plenty of people would have put good money on this Sunday's Jets-Patriots game being a matchup of an 0-6 team vs a 6-0 team. Instead, it's one of the more anticipated games of Week 6 because it will decide 1st place in the AFC East.

Both New York and New England come in with 3-2 records (the Bills are also 3-2 and idle this week) and the idea of tanking for the Jets has long been thrown out the window. Even with a daunting schedule in front of them, fans of the Jets are no longer thinking spring and what a top pick in next year's draft might bring. Shockingly, the playoffs have to be part of this franchise's conversation and January football or not, a contract extension needs to be offered to Todd Bowles who has this team where no one thought he would...contending for the division lead six weeks into the season.
