The New York Rangers need a new head coach and the New York Mets are in 1st place. Linda Cohn is a die-hard fan, but you won't find anyone more knowledgeable on either team.

The firing of Alain Vigneault on the last day of the regular season has left the Rangers in flux, but there's no rush to fill the head coaching role with the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs recently concluded. The most interesting development this early on in New York's offseason, were the comments made by owner James Dolan, who said his next head coach would have to be able to develop the already-young talent on the roster and the others soon to come.

As for the Mets, they've yet to really start hitting with the exception of a red-hot start from Asdrubal Cabrera. The not-so-rosy side of things is the pitching. Matt Harvey has been banished to the bullpen. Steven Matz and Zack Wheeler have had very disappointing starts each of their last two times out. That puts a great deal of stress on Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom to be great every time they toe the rubber. So, is the first place start sustainable?
