The task facing the Pittsburgh Penguins is not unlike the deficit the LA Kings were facing going into game 3 of the eastern conference finals-with 1 exception. A HUGE exception. The Kings played game 3 at home, and home is where they have done their best work so far in the playoffs. Los Angeles stayed unbeaten at home  with a 3-1 defeat of the Chicago Blackhawks . The Hawks now lead the series 2-1.

Pittsburgh lost the 1st 2 games of the eastern conference finals as well-but those loses came on home ice. The Kings are unbeaten at home in the post season at 9-0 so far.

LA scored the 1st 2 goals then held on, adding an empty net goal to make the final 3-1. Doing the dirty for LA were 3 different players.

Justin Williams scored in the 1st period. Slava Voynov, a defenseman, scored his 5th of the playoffs in the 2nd. Dwight King scored the final goal late in the 3rd.

Jonathan Quick faced only 20 shots, stopping 19 of them to get the Kings back in the series. Game 4 will be back in Los Angeles Thursday night.

Jeff Carter had 2 assists to lead LA's cause.

The Blackhawks scored their lone tally late in the 2nd period on a defensive breakdown by the Kings. Other then that the Kings defense ruled game 3.

Meanwhile the Penguins will be desperate tonight for their game 3. They were outplayed badly at home in the 1st 2 games, outscored by a total of 9-1
