It is like Groundhogs Day with this New York Jets football team and once again they find themselves looking to offload some players for compensation before the trade deadline next Tuesday. Joe Douglas is no stranger to offloading players at this point in his Jets General Manager career and this year what players have a market for contending teams? We asked Rich Cimini above and found out the answer:

"The Jets are getting a lot of calls from teams looking to fleece them like they do every year. It is a fire sale situation obviously they are out of contention for this year. I think Marcus Maye and Jameson Crowder are the two names to watch, they are good players in expiring contracts...the question is what kind of market is there going to be?" With the future with the Jets looking bleak for those two, Cimini thinks the Jets will be motivated to find the right deal for them.

Can’t blame Will Brown for wanting to coach the Albany Patroons, when the other option was sitting out the season. The former head coach of the University at Albany men’s basketball team will be formally be introduced as the Patroons new head coach and GM on Wednesday, and it makes sense for both sides. Will loves to coach and is good at it, and the Patroons are looking to put a winning team on the floor and draw bigger crowds to the Washington Avenue Armory. Coach Brown checks off both of those boxes. It’s a win-win, and for coach Brown it also keeps his name relevant for future college jobs, should he want to pursue them down the road.
