RODGER'S QUICK TAKE: Covering the opening day of the Saratoga meet on Thursday left me with any empty feeling. I knew it would feel a lot different without fans, but it stopped me in my tracks when in walked into an empty race  course. Once I regrouped, and realized this was the new norm this season, I felt better.  And it’s still nice covering the best jockeys, trainers and horses in the country.  That part hasn’t changed.
