Tiz the Law looked super impressive a month or so back when winning the Florida Derby and with all intents and purposes would have been the favorite to win the Kentucky Derby. That will not be the first Triple Crown race as the Belmont Stakes will be run on June 20th. Sackatoga Stable founder Jack Knowlton and managing partner of Tiz the Law weighs in on the Belmont Stakes news and how he feels the Saratoga Meet will go.

RODGER'S QUICK TAKE: If a horse wins the Triple Crown this season, it won’t count in my book. The Belmont is shortened to a 1 1/8 instead of 1 1/2. It’s normally the last leg but this year it’s the Belmont is the first out of the gate on June 20th. And if a three year runs the table it won’t be the same grueling schedule, with more time in between races than ever before. The Kentucky Derby is not until September 5th with the Preakness set for October 3rd. I am not complaining, it’s just nice to see all three races taking place in this pandemic we are experiencing. I can handle one year, when the Triple Crown Series is just not the same.
