Ten Upstate NY-Born Players to Follow During NFL Training Camp

Training camp in the National Football League is officially underway, signaling the unofficial start of the 2024 NFL season. Players from across the country have arrived at their respective team's practice facility, and they all share the common goal of making the final 53-man roster.

A handful of players from Upstate New York cities and towns are participating in training camps this year. We've included their names in a list below, so you can follow along and track their progress during these summer practices.

Expectations for the New York (and Jersey) football teams --- the Bills, Jets and Giants --- vary greatly depending on the team. The Bills lost a number of veteran players this offseason, including wide receiver Stefon Diggs, safety Jordan Poyer and cornerback Tre'Davious White.

Though they have a lot of potential on their roster, it's realistic to think that Buffalo may take a step back this season.

While the Bills may regress, the Jets seem poised for a breakout season in 2024. The return of Aaron Rodgers has been compounded by swift acquisitions on both sides of the ball by GM Joe Douglas. The Jets are regarded by many as the favorite in their division, the AFC East, and a team that is capable of a deep playoff run.

On the other side of MetLife Stadium, we find the New York Giants. The Giants are currently being featured in the first season of Hard Knocks - Offseason, and unfortunately, that might end up being the highlight of 2024 for this team. There are some young and promising players on the roster, but expectations are fairly low among fans of Big Blue.
