After a record-breaking month for severe weather in July, the month of August has brought about more weather issues for New Yorkers.

On Monday, August 5th, Western New York residents began to share videos of a cone-shaped cloud form moving across the Western New York sky. Take a look at this:

Soon after, it was confirmed that an EF-1 tornado had indeed touched down in downtown Buffalo. Here's more information on the twister:

Unfortunately, the high winds and heavy rain in the area caused significant damage in the Greater Buffalo area, as well as other parts of Western New York. Check out these photos from nearby Tonawanda, located just minutes from downtown Buffalo.

Did Tornado Tear Path Through Madison County, New York

Did a tornado tear through Madison County, New York? From the pictures Bryce Fleming captures on his drone, it sure looks like it.

If confirmed, it would be the 27th twister to hit New York this year, beating the record of 25 set in 1992.
