As they have all season, the Yankees found a way on Sunday.

Before the game's final inning, a run apiece in the second inning served as its only offense.  Brett Gardner singled home Jayson Nix in the frame's top half - one of the center-fielder's four hits on the day - and Brendan Ryan got Kelly Shoppach around to score by way of an infield single.

In that final inning, it was the Yankees' Chris Stewart who came through in the clutch, singling home Ichiro Suzuki for what proved to be the winning run.  In between, the pitching was terrific.  Felix Hernandez pitched seven innings of five-hit ball for the Mariners; David Phelps went six and surrendered only three hits.  Logan, Robertson and Rivera each pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the Yankees, with Rivera netting the save.

After a day off on Monday, the Yankees will head to Oakland to take on the A's for a three game series.
