Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has some high praise for Mets shortstop Jose Reyes.

According to Alex Rodriguez, the best player in all of baseball is Mets leadoff hitter Jose Reyes.  "They have the world's greatest player playing shortstop over there, and the most exciting," A-Rod said.  "I turn on the TV every time I get a chance to watch him."

A-Rod didn't stop there.  He gave Reyes even more props.  "If I wasn't playing third base, I'd definitely buy a ticket and try to come all weekend (to the Subway Series), because you have great players all over the field, and right now, there's not a player out there that's playing at a higher level than Jose Reyes."

I agree with A-Rod that Reyes is having an unbelievable year.  I'd argue that Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp is actually playing at a higher level than Reyes, but Reyes has still been an absolute beast.  He leads the majors with 123 hits, 15 triples and a .352 batting average.  It'll be interesting to see who walks away with the National League MVP at the end of the season.
