Albany Empire And AFL Assets Go Up For Auction

This time last year the Capital Region was enjoying an amazing Albany Empire season that would ultimately end with the Empire winning the Arena League Championship.

This year which has been historically bad on multiple levels just got a little worse for Empire fans. The AFL's assets are all up for auction including helmets, footballs, and even intellectual properties. I think we all knew the Empire wouldn't get a chance to defend their title but seeing this bankruptcy auction still hurts deeply.

GA Global Partners is the company that will handle the auction on its website. The auction itself will take place now through June 23, 2020 at 11 am. You can go to the site now and see what items are up for auction and even bid them. Seeing things like fields and intellectual properties up for sale is both sad and on some possibly naive level hopeful to me. I know it's the longest of shots but couldn't someone come in and buy all the intellectual properties and bring back the AFL?
