Josh Beekman is looking for work in the NFL again. The Amsterdam native was cut by the Indianpolis Colts on Sunday.

Beekman had signed a one-year contract with the Colts on August 11th but was part of their first wholesale roster cuts over the weekend.

The offensive guard was selected in the 4th round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He started 16 games for the Chicago Bears during the 2008 season and was a starter for 11 games in 2009.

Beekman was released by the Chicago Bears before the regular season opener last year. He then played for the Florida Tuskers in the UFL.

The Amsterdam High School graduate was an All-American offensive lineman at Boston College.  Beekman was inducted into the Capital Region Football Hall of Fame in early August.
