Amsterdam’s Stanovich is Athlete of the Week

We are getting toward the end of the Section II fall season, and what a ride its been thus far.

We head back to the gridiron for our ESPN Radio 104.5 The Team Athlete of the Week, and it is Brian Stanovich of Amsterdam!

Last week, Stanovich posted 20 carries and 270 yards (with two touchdowns) for the Rams. That now gives him 19 TDs on the season.

2013: 1,097 rush yards, 16 total TD (96 points)
2014: 1,531 rush yards, 29 TD (176 points)
2015: 1,192 rush yards, 19 TD (114 points)
Last week: 20 carries, 270 yards, 2 TD
Career: 3,820 rush yards, 64 total TD, 386 points (school record)
Justice Smith career rushing record: 4,124 yards

Stanovich is just over 300 yards away from the school's all-time record and he'll have a chance tonight against a stout Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake team to get the record, but it won't be easy.
