As of Saturday, after some delay, Tim Tebow is officially a New York Jet.  Earlier in the week, Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie sent out some tweets saying the Jets didn't need him, and now he's trying to get himself out of trouble.

When it was first reported that Tim Tebow was traded to the New York Jets, there were people for it, and people against it.  Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie was very outspoken against the trade.  He went to twitter and posted that 'We don't need Tebow. Let him go to Jacksonville or Tampa.'  Now he's backpedaling pretty quickly.

Cromartie said people took those tweets the wrong way, because he wasn't dissing Tebow, he was supporting Mark Sanchez.  He said all he was saying that they don't need Tebow because of Sanchez.  He would also add that he would never take a shot at anyone in the NFL.
