Those long-handled putters that have become fairly popular on the professional golf circuit could soon be obsolete after the U.S. Golf Association and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club—the official governing bodies of The Rules of Golf voted this week to ban “anchoring” a club while putting.
Riding a motorcycle at 200+ miles per hour with just a helmet and some thin racing gear as the only things between you and possible death is pretty impressive. It’s even impressive when you fall off the bike and escape with nothing more than a broken foot and an insane case of road rash.
The first week of bowl games is in the books and, while we all know these games are just appetizers for the big games to come, the BCS games will be hard-pressed to match some of the excitement we’ve already seen. Three of the four games this week were decided in the fourth quarter and featured a lot of stellar individual efforts.

The first week of the bowl season is a great time for strange-sounding games named after local companies you’ve probably never heard of. For college football junkies, though, it’s a great time to see some exciting players who may not be household names, but may soon be. For example, the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday afternoon features the nation’s top two leading rushers, both of whom will be back next year.
