Hockey fans chucking random things onto the ice is nothing new.  However, this video is unique for a few reasons.

Okay, first off, the most obvious difference between this video and most videos involving hockey fans throwing random things onto the ice is that these people are throwing teddy bears.  Typically, it's something manly like an octopus.  A hat or something manly like a garden hose is more likely to be thrown onto the ice than a teddy bear.

This has been a tradition of the Calgary Hitmen for 17 seasons though.  They have a Teddy Bear Toss to raise money for local hospitals and also deliver the bears that were thrown onto the ice to the local hospitals.  That's a cool tradition.  I'll definitely give them a pass on the non-manly teddy bears.

Something else that makes this video unique is all of the horrible throws by the crowd.  Most of the teddy bears don't even reach the ice.  Seriously, check out the kid at the 25-second mark.  He threw his teddy bear a solid two rows.  A man (probably his father) is heard saying, "Yeeeeah."  The father must be thinking inside, "Oh boy, my son throws like a girl."

I know, leave it to me to point out something negative here.  It's a great cause, a cool video, and it benefits the community.  I'm not losing sight of any of that.  It's just that some of the people throwing these teddy bears need to hit the gym to make improvements in the strength department.  Ya know?  Just sayin'.
