Torrey Pines is set on the beautiful coast of southern California. With that beauty, on hot humid days can come a dense marine fog, so thick you can’t see your fingertips stretched out in front of your face. So, teeing off in a major golf championship is probably not a great idea. Yesterday, that fog delayed the start of the 121st U.S. Open Golf Championship by 90 minutes.

Basically, “John you're up by 6 strokes. You tested positive for COVID-19 and your weekend is over.” Oh yeah, “by the way John, had you been fully vaccinated, you probably would have taken home $1.67 million and a cool crystal trophy to go with the one you won last year. Thanks for playing!” Rob Oller from the Columbus Dispatch, who was on The Drive with Charlie and Dan last week, quoted Jack Nickalaus as saying, “(Getting vaccinated) is a business decision in many ways...There’s no hassle to it after you get it.”

Justin Thomas seems to know a good golfer, and a good person, when he sees one, and he changed a life over the weekend.

This past weekend, May 21st, 22nd and 23rd, may have been the first weekend that you can make the argument that sports are, in a word, back.

This weekend the world of Golf will present us with one of potentially the biggest non-major tournaments I've ever seen. The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golfcourse in Dublin, Ohio will have returning heroes, returning rivals, drama, and potential violence.

This Sunday is "The Match" well basically the rematch,"The Match: Champions for Charity," which will air at 3 p.m. ET on TNT this Sunday. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will face off for the second year in head to head golf. Tiger and Phil aren't the only rematch though. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will join tiger and Phil making this year's match doubles and I have a long list of prop bets you can use to enhance your enjoyment of Sunday's golf match.

The on going debate over what businesses should be listed as essential which ones shouldn't continues to evolve. Even though we are seeing some positive momentum in New York State's fight against COVID-19 the "Stay At Home" order will remain in place until at least April 29th. One major clarification was added today to the clarification of the Stay at Home executive order, Golf Courses are specifically listed as not essential.
