Well, the Colts haven't had any success against the Patriots in the Andrew Luck era, so last night, the Colts decided to try some trickery in order to beat the defending Super Bowl champions.

And, uh, uh, it uh, didn't go so well...

This fake punt has been labeled the worst play in NFL history by more than one person. It's bad. It's really bad.

But I at least get what the Colts were trying to do. As Mike and Mike pointed out this morning, the Colts were just trying to use deception to catch the Patriots napping. If the shifting and motion confused the Patriots enough to cause them to have 12 men on the field, the Colts could have snapped the ball to get a penalty.

If it did nothing, the Colts simply could have taken a delay of game penalty.

The one thing, I'm pretty sure, that wasn't supposed to happen was the ball being snapped and the runner having one blocker against several Pats.
