What the Dallas Cowboys wouldn't do, what the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wouldn't do, Josh Brent did do. He benched himself. In fact he announced his retirement according to the Cowboys.

Why does this matter you ask? Because Brent may go to jail, for manslaughter in the death of Jerry Brown. Brent was driving the car, and drunk, in a crash that killed his teammate Brown.

Despite the death and illegality of it the Cowboys allowed Brent to patrol the sidelines the Sunday after the death. Phony tough guy commish Goodell did nothing either.

The 25 year old Brent faces intoxication manslaughter charges. He will appear in court on September 23rd. A possible plea deal may be worked out before that date.

Brent has also failed 2 subsequent drug tests for weed during the off-season.
