Albany native Dion Lewis continued his charge to make the New England Patriots roster this week.

Lewis caught four passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Pats' 17-16 win over the Panthers. It's the second consecutive week he's had with a touchdown.

He also added 12 yards on three carries as he attempts to prove his versatility.

"Dion was making some moves out there, that's for sure," quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said. "Very impressive. Getting open on the pass plays that he was called upon; it's nice having a guy like that."

Lewis is looking to make the roster as the main pass-catching back, the role voided by departed running back Shane Vereen.

He played 10 of 59 offensive snaps, which ranked third on RB depth chart behind LaGarrette Blount (22) and Branden Bolden (19). He played more than Jonas Gray (8) and James White (2).

Lewis played his college ball at Pitt before spending NFL time with the Eagles, Browns, and Colts.
