Former New York Giants star tight end Jeremy Shockey was questioned by the FBI this past week as they investigate a drug and gambling ring. According to Brad Hamilton of the New York Post, the FBI is digging deeper into Shockey's relationship with ring leader Owen Hanson.

Shockey is rumored to be one of the many athletes connected to Hanson and the investigation is on-going. Hanson has been connected to players in the NFL, MLB, and NBA, along with police detectives. Shockey has denied any wrongdoing and welcomed questioning by the FBI.

Shockey was selected by the Giants 14th overall in the 2002 NFL draft out of the University of Miami. He spent six seasons with the Giants, winning the 2002 rookie of the year and making it to four Pro Bowls in his first five seasons. Shockey tore his ACL in the 2007 season as the team went on to defeat the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. Shockey also had stints with the New Orleans Saints (Won Super Bowl XLIV) and Carolina Panthers before retiring in 2012 after going unsigned.
