After allowing a hit and walking a batter, Jason Isringhausen sealed the win against the Padres with runners on second and third.  Isringhausen recorded 217 of his 300 saves during his seven seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals.  He would often raise the blood pressure of Cardinal fans before eventually saving the game.

Isringhausen missed a year and a half due to various injuries.  The closer said the reason he returned to baseball was to reach 300 saves.  He also said, "I'm just glad it's over with so we can move on, hopefully, maybe get 301 tomorrow.  I'm happy I got it, but I've got another game tomorrow."
