The U.S. Open got dramatic with a two-way tie heading into the 18th hole on Sunday and then things really got crazy. Dustin Johnson had a chance to win his first major championship but then failed to tie with a three-put to finish his day.

Already done for the afternoon, Jordan Spieth said afterward, "I'm in shock right now", as Johnson failed to force a playoff. "I just wanted a fighting chance for tomorrow. I feel bad for Dustin. I had that feeling on that 17, and I'm just proud the way we rebounded on 18."

After winning the Masters earlier this year, Jordan Spieth has become the first player to win the U.S. Open before his 22nd birthday since Bobby Jones in 1923 and is the sixth to win both the Master and the U.S. Open in the same year, putting his name up in the ranks of Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
