Who will win this year's biggest individual award in college football? The Heisman Trophy will be announced later tonight in New York City. I am live now in the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City providing up to the minute updates and more involving this year's Heisman Trophy.

5:38pm Update: Just spoke with Clemson quarterback Deshaun Waton before the media session. My dad and Watson grabbed a photo together. Mr. Goz expressed how much he did not enjoy Watson tearing up his beloved Orange the past few seasons.

5:43 Update: I have arrived for the pre-ceremony media availability. The stage is set for the press conference.

Update: 6:00pm The finalists are on the stage getting ready for the Q&A open press conference. The Heisman Trophy will be out next. This year's finalists are Lamar Jackson from Louisville, Bakery Mayfield from Oklahoma, Jabrill Peppers from Michigan, Deshaun Watson from Clemson and Dede Westbrook from Oklahoma.

Update: 6:18pm. The group Q&A just wrapped up. Some of the best questions included who would each candidate vote if they could not vote for themselves. (Peppers said Watson, Watson and Jackson said they could not pick, while Westbrook and Mayfield voted for each other). Below is this year's candidates with the Heisman Trophy.

Update 6:18pm: First walked over to Jabrill Peppers defensive stand out/offensive weapon from Michigan. He said he has imagined the moment of winning the Heisman Trophy. The whole experience just still seems surreal to him.

Update 6:20pm. Over to media table with Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook. Dede says he has not met Oklahoma City Thunder Russell Westbrook but he does have a great relationship with Russell's brother. They text almost every day and he congratulated him after his recent win of the Biletnikoff award.

Update 6:23pm After speaking with him and his family in the hallway before the media session, it is very clear DeShaun Watson is very proud of graudating college in less than four years. He is a communications major from Clemson. Jets fans may want him to delay using that degree and instead take his talents to New York.

Update 6:33pm. Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield discussed the changes he made from this year to last year. He believed it was about just keeping focus and staying level-headed. Mayfield and his Sooners won the Big 12 title this past season.

Update 6:30pm. Last but certainly not least is Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson discussed how it is not an issue for him to keep weight on. Jackson made a statement by having a pizza box in front of him during the interview session. Also don't be surprised if his foot wear gets some attention during the ESPN broadcast tonight.

Update: 8:00pm. The Heisman Trophy Presentation is underway on ESPN Radio 1045 The Team. Check back at 930pm for updates from the winner's press conference.

Update 9:03pm: The winner of the 2016 Heisman Memorial Trophy is Louisville Quarterback Lamar Jackson. He becomes the school's first ever recipient of the award. He will address the press in less than one hour.

Update 9:30pm The 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson now addressing the media. Discussing what that moment was like.

Update 9:38pm Louisville Head Coach Bobby Petrino now addressing the media. He says he always knew the ability Lamar had. Also somehow Mr.Goz is back at the hotel and has been spotted hanging out with 1978 Heisman winner Billy Sims.

Update 9:40pm Below is your winner Lamar Jackson with the 2016 Heisman Trophy. Thanks again for following me tonight. My official ballot will be released online at 1045Theteam.com on Monday.
