The Sprint Cup Series headed to Kansas Speedway on Sunday in the sixth race in the chase for the championship .Matt Kenseth would snag the checkered flag at the Hollywood Casino 400 for his third victory of the season.

This was the first race on the newly paved Kansas Speedway and that seemed to reek havoc as the race was full of yellow flags with various accidents throughout the afternoon. Kenseth, Casey Mears, Jeff Burton, Jimmie Johnson, Bobby Labonte ,Greg Biffle and a few others would all smack the wall at one point. Danica Patrick and Landon Cassill got into a crash that Danica seems to have caused by making intentional contact to Cassill's car and took herself out in the process. Trevor Bayne and Marcos Ambrose would both crash at lap 169 while racing hard. Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman would also get together taking both cars out. Busch in an interview following the crash vowed payback before the year is done. Aric Amirola would have a good start by leading the most laps, but would smack the wall on numerous occasions, the final time on lap 213 would take him out of the race. The race saw 14 yellow flags, the most of any race this season.

Following a caution involving Sam Hornish Jr. with 30 laps left, Matt Kenseth would take over the lead and would not look back.It was Kenseth's third win of the season and the second in the 10 race chase for the championship.  Martin Truex Jr. would finish behind Kenseth in second place. Paul Menard, Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart would round out the top 5.  Brad Keselowski remains atop the points standings followed closely behind by Jimmie Johnson.
