Grade 1 winner Maximum Security will run one more time in 2019. Jason Servis told Daily Racing Form NY based writer David Grening that Maximum Security will run in the Grade 1 Cigar mile at Aqueduct on December 7th.

With a win in the Cigar Mile, Maximum Security would finish the year with three Grade 1 victories (Florida Derby, Haskell) and put him in the running for top 3 year old at the Eclipse awards in January. Code of Honor is up for the award as well and after winning the Travers and Jockey Club Gold Cup, he ran poorly in the Breeders Cup Classic.
Maximum Security choose the Cigar Mile over the Clark at Churchill Downs after a strong galloup over the Aqueduct main track on Sunday. He will go into this race with five wins in seven starts and six for eight in his career.
