NBA Players & Owners Reach Tentative Deal To End Lockout
The NBA season could soon be starting and as early as Christmas Day because the players and owners have apparently reached a deal. The news broke early Saturday morning.
ESPN reports that the 149 days of the NBA lockout could soon be over. While neither side provided specific details about the deal, a tentative one was apparently reached which means it’s time to ‘play ball’.
Subject to a variety of approvals and very complex machinations, but we’re optimistic that will all come to pass and that the NBA season will begin Dec. 25.
The two sides met in secret earlier this week and for nearly 15 hours yesterday, but it seemed to have paid off. Perhaps blame some of it on holiday cheer? Whatever the case may be, it looks like we will soon have the NBA back, which means so long Europe and hello to the Garden! The players and owners will further discuss the details of the deal today before anything is official, but this is some of the most positive news we have gotten on this front since the lockout began.
