The New York Rangers have signed party animal former Los Angeles Kings center Jarret Stoll to a one-year,  $800,000 contract. This comes only weeks after signing Derek Stepan to a 6-year deal.

You probably most recently remember Stoll for his arrest in Las Vegas, when security guards at a MGM Grand pool found what police thought were over three grams of cocaine and ecstasy capsules in his pocket. Stoll ended up pleading guilty to two misdemeanor charges. Also the long time boyfriend of sports T.V personality Erin Andrew.

New Rangers GM Gorton is doing an unbelievable job in his first summer as the Rangers GM getting Stepan on a long term contract  and locking up JT Miller while maintaining Rangers cap flexibility, and then again pulls off another no brainer move. The 33-year old is a proven veteran who helped the Los Angeles Kings win two Stanley Cups, including the defeat of the Rangers in the 2014 Final. If it works out for both sides, the Rangers will have extra depth at center, and Stoll will prove worthy of his second chance. If it doesn’t, the Rangers can send him to the American Hockey League, like they did last season for another troubled player Ryan Malone.

In 12 NHL seasons with the Oilers and Los Angeles, Stoll has accumulated 379 points (140 goals, 239 assists) in 792 games, He led his team in face-off win percentage in nine consecutive seasons from 2005–06 to ’13–14.
