Siena Preps for MAAC Tourament; Jamion Christian Joins BBS

With the countdown on to Saturday's 9:30pm scheduled tip off between Siena and Rider, there is an optimism in the Capital Region that the Saints have as good a chance as any team in the field to cut down the nets Monday night.

The Siena basketball program had a historic start to championship week with Jalen Pickett becoming only the second freshman ever to be named a member of the All-MAAC First Team. Pickett also won his eleventh MAAC Rookie of the Week which is more than any other player in the history of the conference. Add Sloan Seymour to the all-rookie team and Evan Fisher to the Second Team All-MAAC and the Saints have plenty of accolades to boost their already surprising season.

Coach of the Year is still out there and Jamion Christian is like his team in this upcoming conference tournament; he has as good a chance as any other coach (and better than most) to win that award. Coach joined Big Board Sports Tuesday morning to preview the Rider matchup:
