Siena’s Lacrosse Team Names Their Captains

The Siena Lacrosse program, coming off a successful spring season has named their captains for the upcoming year. Siena went 11-5 this past spring, won the MAAC regular season crown and made it to the conference championship game.

Siena head coach John Svec named his four captains for the upcoming 2013 season. Red shirt junior Mike Battaglia, senior Erik Casparius, senior Danny Martinsen and senior  Collin Parkhurst all received the honors to lead the team for the upcoming year.

Battaglia is local, from Loudonville. Last year he was out, taking a medical red-shirt. Casparius is from Portland, Maine. Martinsen is from Smithtown, Long Island and Parkhurst hails from Croton-on-Hudson, NY.

Said coach Svec of his selections "I am thrilled to have four young men with the character, enthusiasm, and leadership of Mike, Erik, Danny, and Collin. We have a great group of seniors and these four exemplify what it is to be a student athlete at Siena College."
