As the investigation continues to find out who was behind the bombings at the Boston Marathon, the unimportant world of sports has been effected in terms of canceled games.

Monday nights NHL game between the Boston Bruins and the Ottawa Senators was postponed. This game will likely be made up as both teams battle for playoff position, or in the case of the Sens try to just get into the playoffs.

The NBA announced that Tuesday's game between the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers has been canceled and will not be made up. Both teams have solidified their playoff seedings so the game is meaning less. The Celts will be seeded 7th and take on the NY Knicks. The Pacers don't know who their opponent will be as of yet but they will be the 3rd seed in the east and take on either the Atlanta Hawks or Chicago Bulls. The Hawks currently lead the 6th place Bulls by half a game in the east. Whomever finishes 5th will take on the Brooklyn Nets in round 1.

All across the United States at sporting events on Monday security was heightened in case some copy cat creep had notions of doing harm at an arena or ballpark.

Other cities like NY City increased security as well at historical landmarks. The country was again put on alert that bad people are out there and want to cause carnage and death while we enjoy the unimportant things in life like a ballgame,

Tragically the twin bombings came at the tail end of the Boston Marathon. Tragically an 8 year old boy was killed in the blasts. He just finished celebrating with his father who finished the marathon and went to rejoin his sister and mother in the crowd right by where the initial bomb went off. The boys sister was also seriously injured as was the mother.

At last look we now have 3 people who have perished in the heinous attack and upwards of 140 people injured. Many didn't go to a hospital right away, that's why the increased injury toll.
