Yankees Defeat Blue Jays 4-2 In Doubleheader Opener

Tuesday night was supposed to be a grand return of Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte, but Mother Nature had other plans, forcing last night's game to be rescheduled for this afternoon. Despite the change of schedule, Pettitte still tossed 75 pitches in five shutout innings, leading the Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Blue Jays. This afternoon's victory in Game One of a day-night doubleheader gave the Yankees a half-game lead over the Orioles for first place in the American League East.
