It's not often that Superman needs help but it happens. In seasons past, Jake deGrom would take the mound, give up one run and lose the game 1-0. This year is different. No, Jake is still Superman but this year, his faithful teammates aren't letting him down.

The Mets could literally build a full starting rotation out of the amount of pitchers they currently have injured, and something needs to be done about it, soon.

New York Mets fans held their breath tonight, as Superman...uh, Jake deGrom did not return to the mound at Citi Field in the fourth inning after dominating the Chicago Cubs over the first three innings. deGrom struck out 8 of the 9 batters he faced. He didn’t give up a hit or a walk. Oh yeah, in his only time up, he singled and drove in a run. The Mets only had 5 hits the entire night. deGrom is now hitting .423 with 6 RBI.

Jake left with the score 3-0. The Mets eventually won 3-2. DeGrom picked up his 3rd straight victory for the first time since 2018 and that’s only because the Mets never score runs for him. Unfortunately, reports came out in the 8th that deGrom left the game with “right flexor tendinitis.” There is no word on the prognosis. We will keep you updated on The Drive with Charlie and Dan.

Mets fans, brace yourselves. Chaos is incoming. A Twitter user posted a video showing Jacob deGrom make a few moves that he thought were suspicious.

The Mets continue to find ways to win, albeit against the Diamondbacks, who have been awful over the last few weeks. Those are the games you're “supposed” to win. Easier said than done when it comes to the Mets. At one point last week, the Metropolitans featured 17 players on the IL. It’s not easy when that list at one time includes Alonso, Lugo, McNeil, deGrom, Davis, Syndergaard, Carasco...well you get the picture.

Here we are a week later and the New York Yankees appear to have found their stride winning four of the five games since Buster told me to enjoy the Yankees because they are for real. Just when it seemed like the New York Mets were FINALLY starting to play to their potential, a seismic quake has rocked them to their core.

Newsday's David Lennon called in to Levack and Charlie to preview the 2021 season which starts on April 1st and he found himself smack dab in the middle of our long running debate. Who does Lennon think is the better rotation and who is the best pitcher not only in New York but all of baseball.

Buster Olney joined us today like he does every Thursday during the MLB season thanks to our friends at Tech East Fire and Water Restoration. It might be one of my all time favorite appearances from Buster, mainly because it seems like we were completely on the same page for the entire call. Everything from overreacting Yankee fans to Mets' ace Jacob deGrom deserves the National League Cy Young award regardless of the teams win/loss record.
