October 24, 2012 There are several athletes currently in the midst of their playing careers who have come from the Capital Region: Casper Wells, John Lannan, Dion Lewis and Mark Lyons just to name a few. However, one of the true original "sports ambassadors" to come from the Albany area has left us far too early. Earlier today, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School varsity wrestling coach Jeff Blatnick passed away due to complications from heart surgery. He was just 55 years old.
