Yankees Try to Tackle the Tribe

The New York Yankees, with the depleted roster we all know by now, opened up 2013 losing two of three to Boston and two of three to Detroit.  BUT, the last game against Detroit was a 7-0 win and the Yanks downed ace Justin Verlander and CC Sabathia rebounded for a win, so the momentum is there to ride.  And now the pinstripes head to Cleveland for a four-game set.  Here is a series preview:

On the 100-year anniversary of Fenway Park, fans of the Boston Red Sox began the day cheering for Terry “Tito” Francona out of sheer joy and elation when he walked onto the field for a pregame ceremony. But by the end of this afternoon’s 6-2 loss to the Yankees, those same fans would chant “We Want Tito” with great disdain towards Boston’s new manager Bobby Valentine.

The September swoon of the Boston Red Sox has apparently continued beyond game 162.  In one of the more puzzling front office decisions in recent memory Terry Francona and the Red Sox have parted ways.  The manager has been ousted following the Red Sox's awful, record-setting September collapse.
